Decarbonizing chemical value chain: Navigating a complex policy, regulatory and demand landscape. Decarbonization of shipping: An ambitious global test looms for fuels of the future
Decarbonization momentum is accelerating, driven by both market demands as well as non-market forces. In this special program, we will explore the regulatory, policy, and demand landscape that impacts decarbonization investment across the end-to-end petrochemical value chain and how companies are responding. As pressure mounts to deliver measurable progress toward carbon neutrality, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) is pledging to reach net zero by or around 2050. Although many types of alternative fuels are being explored such as hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, biofuels, fuel cells and more, there is no one clear frontrunner in the race. The program will explore the state of the current alternative fuel landscape and the path forward.
